Holy basil (Ocimum tenuiflorum or Ocimum sanctum), also known as tulsi, is a sacred plant in Hindu tradition and widely used in Ayurvedic medicine. Native to India and Southeast Asia, it belongs to the mint family (Lamiaceae) and is known for its aromatic leaves and adaptogenic properties.

Holy basil is typically consumed as a tea, extract, or supplement.

 

Directions:
Use 1–2 teaspoons per cup. Pour freshly boiled water over the leaves and steep for 5–7 minutes. Strain and enjoy. Sweeten as desired.

 

Storage:
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Reseal after each use to preserve freshness.
