Wormwood (Artemisia Absinthium)
Wormwood because it bears the name of the Greek goddess Artemis who was an excellent hunter. The name is perfect because Wormwood is also a hunter. It has many names such as The Killer of Organisms or the Cleanser of Organisms.
However, it’s most famous benefit is its culinary aspect in the beverage world. The well-known Absinthe, which is a powerful alcohol, has history as far back as the 1800’s up till this very day.

Wormwood itself is known for liver, gall bladder and digestive issues as well as to rid intestinal parasites. It’s known to kill organisms in the body that doesn’t belong. I always thought to myself if Herbs don’t have any power and nonnutritive, or obnoxious weed then why do we use oregano, thyme, Sage, bay leaf’s, cinnamon, ginger, black pepper, etc to spice our food. We use hops, juniper berries, and wormwood to name a few for alcoholic beverages. Foxglove or Belladonna for Heart medicine or eye water.
